Hacking is a useful ability based on intelligence. The fourth level is required to unlock the ability. Further ability levels also have character level requirements. This feature allows you to use computer terminals protected by passwords. Very often, unlocking them will provide you with many options: activating /deactivating enemy robots, opening locked doors, sometimes safes. Sometimes inside them you can find holographic tapes or useful information related to quests or the history of the location.

Terminals have a four-level security scale: amateur, advanced, expert and workshop. At each level, the string of letters is longer, and the number of available attempts decreases. After using all available attempts, the computer will be temporarily locked for 10 seconds. However, turning the terminal off and on restores the number of available attempts. When you do this, a new password is generated. The only exception is when you get a master level of Hacker skill - in this case, terminals are never blocked. In order to start hacking, you won't need anything except a terminal. In the upper panel you can see the number of available attempts. You have to find the words in the code with the symbols appearing in the main window - depending on the terminal level, the length of the words will vary. As a rule, the first attempt is a "blind shot" - choose any word, preferably one that has elements that repeat regularly (for example, "es" or "th" ends). In the lower right corner you will see information about how many letters in the word match the letter and its location in the correct password.

Example: The word FEEL with probability equal to 2 may mean that the words SEEK (two E in one place) or SELL (E and L in the right places) may correspond to the sequence.

If, after entering the first word, it is still difficult for you to guess what the password might be, you should choose another word, preferably one that has completely different letters and their order. If you have two strings of words, you will be able to guess the password at a basic level. After a while, when you hack enough terminals, you will hack much faster.

Tip: if you find brackets in which, after selecting one of them, the entire line inside them will be highlighted, you will receive a bonus. The bonus can take one of two forms: either one of the incorrect words will be deleted (replaced with dots), or the number of available attempts to solve the puzzle will be restored.
