The Desert Cave Hotel & Casino, Australia

Coober Pedy. The name probably doesn't ring a bell, and honestly, that's okay. Coober Pedy is the name of a small town of 2,000 inhabitants located in the heart of Australia. And this is not an exaggeration when you know that the nearest big city is 850 km away! But the small town of Coober Pedy is a relatively known tourist attraction for a good reason: the presence of a rather particular casino.

Indeed, the small town, known mainly for its mines, has since the end of the 1980s a gaming establishment among the most beautiful in Australia. But why install a casino in such a deserted area? Well, the particularity of the Desert Cave Hotel & Casino is that it is located underground! Desert Cave Hotel & Casino is also on casino sites in India. An unusual concept that attracts more and more curious people. The casino is entirely carved out of limestone and stone, which makes the underground side very appealing, far from the luxurious casinos, where everything is symmetrical.

The main strength of this casino is the fact that it allows playing in optimal conditions, the natural coolness of the cellars allowing us to escape the usual heat of Coober Pedy!

Jet Lounge Casino

Imagine this: you're on a long-haul flight, and you don't like the list of movies available to you, but just a few steps away you have the opportunity to take on a dealer in a game of blackjack. Well, you should know that this is possible at Jet Lounge Casino!

Initiated in 2010, the idea comes from a French company, AirJet Design. The Jet Lounge Casino takes the idea of a casino and all that it has to offer, but this time in an airliner! The idea is to reproduce the atmosphere and environment of a gaming establishment, with a bar and gaming tables. Here, the company is betting on a 1960s atmosphere that could be found in some James Bond movies.

For now, the Casino Jet Lounge is only available for private lines. Indeed, the airlines are for the moment rather reluctant, because of inconclusive trials in the past. One example is Singapore Airlines, which tried to place slot machines on a flight from Singapore to San Francisco in 1981. Although the project was successful, it had to be abandoned only two months later, mainly because of logistical difficulties deemed insurmountable.

The Nevada State Prison, USA

It is often said that Nevada is the American state that has really democratized gambling. But from there to authorize the opening of a room dedicated to the casino in state prison, one would never have thought of it. And yet it did happen, and with a success that lasted for a while!

In fact, after Governor Fred Balzar's Bill 98 legalized gambling in the state, the Nevada State Prison did the unthinkable and simply opened a casino on its grounds so that inmates could enjoy the newly legalized games. Nicknamed the Bullpen, the casino ran successfully from 1932 to 1967, more than 30 years, before finally being closed.

The casino was housed in a massive windowless stone room carved out of the natural sandstone surrounding the prison before being moved to a larger building in the 1930s. During its thirty-year existence, the casino offered traditional games such as blackjack, craps, and poker, and the inmates ran the entire casino, from the organization of the games to security. They also had their own currency in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50 cents, and 1 and 5 dollars that were used in the casino.
